Patching

The implementation of patches in order to reinforce security or improve DB functionality is an important DB maintenance activity.

Typically, bugs may cause certain functional problems that can be solved using interim patches.

On the other hand, functionally verified DB patch sets are periodically released by Oracle. These patches only require a one-time installation, and they do not affect data –just software. The application of these patch sets ensure that the installed software is updated and fault free.

As part of our maintenance support, we offer Oracle patch application and monitoring services. We also provide information on if and how these patches can be convenient for you.

In cluster environments, there is the possibility to apply patches with the Rolling Patching option. This prevents downtime during DB upgrades.
